Zanzibar is one of the worlds few national teams that regularly competes at full international level against FIFA members despite not being a FIFA member themselves. As a member of East Africas sub-confederation of CECAFA, Zanzibar compete in the annual CECAFA Cup, where they have regularly reached the later stages and even won the title in 1995.
